Uke whammy bar

Not a clue. And looks like part of the contraption is missing. There is another hole on the sidewall visible on one of the pictures.

Normally a whammy bar moves the bridge on a SOLID body instrument, which causes the tremelo affect. I can't see in this photo if it is attached to the bridge or not. One thing is certain; over time if you used it to move the top of the instrument it would cause damage to this type of construction.
 
Methinks that with the use of that attachment, this will not end well...

I am offended to see that on a vintage Martin concert uke, but to each his own.

If I had the cash, I'd buy it so I could remove the whammy and then fill the holes, and if no other damage, just play the devil out of that thing...:music:

Could it be to hold a small mic, or maybe to mount the uke on a stand like I've seen for guitars on stage?
