Hello friends, just a quick query about recording music. I've been thinking about starting to record some of my playing - mainly to share it with some of my family and friends, but also to listen and get feedback on mistakes I'm making and also to create a few backing tracks etc.

My question is - what kind of setup would be recommended? I've seen a variety of microphones of good quality that can be plugged in to a PC and recorded through something like Audacity. Only thing is, I'm not sure whether to use a dynamic, condenser mic etc?

I don't own an electric/electro-acoustic uke so this is why I was thinking of going this route. Any suggestions are most welcome and appreciated!

Thanks very much for this! I was looking at something like this, so good to know that it seems a standard way to do it! I had considered an electric uke and getting a loop pedal and recording software but the overall costs would be a fair bit more for what I need it for!

Great, thanks very much for the link! Forgot to ask in my original post!
