I have moved to Tenor size so it is time to let this little gem go. Very nice late 40's early 50's Favilla Soprano. Solid mahogany in what appears to be original condition. Comes with this cool brown corduroy bag. New Martin strings.

There are minor scratches & possibly a repaired crack but not sure it is not open but want to divulge it just in case but it could just be finish/grain.

I am asking $200 paypal friend and family shipped to the Continental US.

May be a U-3 model minus sound hole trim.
Fantastic ukes - great price. Go for it people!

Good point, the U3 had a bigger soundhole, and the plastic soundhole ring probably would have covered that brace that can be seen. U3 also had inlaid (not painted on) position markers, with double dots at 7th fret, like this one. My 30s/40s U2 has that plastic soundhole ring too, and is a sweet, loud uke, betcha this one is too. Good luck with the sale.

Some of the sound hole trim is still there so it may be. I was going to keep it for campfires and such but now waiting on a Kala Cedar Tenor so this one needs to go. BUT I have MIAS and may want to keep it.....just they do take maintenance. This one has been well cared for since purchasing for a UU member a few years ago.

The sound hole has definitely been enlarged. You can tell in the close-ups that it is not original. I have owned several Favilla U3's, and can assure you that that isn't the original state of the sound hole.
I will say that the U3's I've owned have been easily the best sounding Favillas I've played.

Sale pending.

I talked with Tom Favilla about the sound hole & he felt that it was original & told me that I should not try and replace the plastic that had come loose & that it should not have any adverse effects not being there.
