Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but your gonna need to fork out a little more for a decent acoustic electric and spruce top...
I had this in mind for you though... One that I was very very close to getting...
But decided to save up for a Mainland :)
But this isn't way too out of your price range....

Ohana seems to be your friend for this. On Musicguymic's shop there's this vita soprano with a solid spruce top (http://cgi.ebay.com/OHANA-CKP-70-VITA-UKULELE-solid-spruce-top-Mahogany_W0QQitemZ330326851692QQihZ014QQcategoryZ1 6224QQcmdZViewItem) and this NEWWWWW solid zebrawood soprano (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEWWWWW-Ohana-SOLID-ZEBRAWOOD-SOPRANO-UKULELE_W0QQitemZ270383502731QQihZ017QQcategoryZ16 224QQcmdZViewItem).

Solid but not electric, I'm afraid. But you're for sure getting your value for money with those Ohanas.

Elderly Instruments is selling the Ohanas for a bit cheaper than MGM. $125 for the Zebrawood and 145 for the Pineapple. Most shipping for items over 100 is free. They are on order, though, at Elderly. MGM has them in stock. Both Elderly and MGM are good people to work with.

Maybe this thread (http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11346) will provide some assistance. BTW, where in Sac are you?
