Kala Waterman with wound strings?

I have a Kala Waterman Concert. A pretty decent plastic uke for the price. I just carry it in the house without a case and not care about it getting scratched or dinged. Any know if I can strung it with wound low G string? The tuners are grover geared tuners but I believe the frets are molded plastic(polymer) and so is the bridge. Will a wound string wear off the fret quickly?

Wound strings will wear a groove in the plasic frets.

Maybe try some Living Water, or similar, fluorocarbon low G strings on it.

I keep my Waterman by my computer for casual inspiration, so it gets played a lot. Even the Aquila Nylguts I have on there now are starting to wear the plastic frets. I imagine wound strings would chew 'em up in no time.

Definitely use an unwound flouro-carbon low g.
