I am relatively new to the fantastic world of ukulele (since 2016). By random searches, I discovered Jake Shimabukuro, James Hill, Kalei Gamiao, Chris Fuchigami...... on youtube and such. But these are all recent great players. I would like some pointers for where to look or start reading about great players of different eras. Or is there is chart of some sort that sort out great players every decades or generations?
Thanks.

Two that bring out mixed feelings from some of us - Tiny Tim & George Formby. ;)

Ukulele Ike, George Harrison, Joe Brown, are a few more to look up. :)

I'd put Roy Smeck at the top of the list.

A Google search will bring up a lot of ukulele players beyond what’s listed. But why go outside the forum when a more in-depth listing can be found here: http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?129789-Who-Are-The-Most-Famous-Ukuele-Players-of-All-Time-l

Love this! I've heard Ohta San four times in person and he's one of a kind. Nice man as well. Jr is pretty amazing too!
