Looking for a lower tension string set recommendation for a 16-inch scale deeper bodied mahogany concert. Perhaps there are any Ono or Barron River owners out there? I've heard mention of Worths, Living Water, Thomastik-Infeld, Savarez, and South Coast strings. So many to choose from. I'll be playing mostly fingerpicking and would like to consider a non-wound low g string as well.

I use concert scale Living Water fluorocarbon low G strings on my tenor scale ukes, both solid mahogany & solid acacia, the feel & the tone just work for me. :)

(I also use them on my concert scale ukes too.)

+1 for Living Water strings. Worth strings are also worth considering. CL or CM might suit. I find Worth & Living Water very similar in tension and tone

I use worth clear low G (all fluorocarbon, no wound string) set on my Pono concert. Feels great.
I also have a soprano strung with worth brown light tension low g set. The tension is really soft, making it super easy on the fingers. But the Low G string tends to be slightly floppy on the soprano.

I owned a Ono 16" concert and South Coast ML-WB worked very well. M stands for medium tension, L stands for Linear and WB stands for wound basses, G and C strings are wound.

As Jim Hanks said you could go LML-NW which are Light Medium and is slightly lower tension than the Mediums.

Living Waters for A and E strings, Thomastik-Infeld CF27 for C and Fremont Soloist for G. Some use the T-I CF30 for low G. I am not at all a fan of unwound low G strings, too thunky.

Thanks everyone for your help! I've ordered the South Coast and Worth Clears. I'll also try Wayfarer75's setup someday soon as well. NUD is on its way--I'll post a quick review when it happens.
