I have been looking for an all-Koa uke (i.e. Koa neck, fretboard, bridge) and it seems that getting a custom build may be my only option. I am lucky to have an excellent luthier in town who is renowned for his mandolins and guitars, but also likes ukes. When we briefly discussed potential specs he mentioned that he would build it with Martin bracing, at which point I realized that with my focus on materials and size I am totally clueless about the various bracing patters that can be used.
A search on the UU forum did not yield a dedicated bracing thread, so I hope we can have a discussion on this topic. I am mainly interested in the various bracing patters that some of the main manufacturers (e.g. Kamaka, Martin, Koaloha etc) have used for their various sizes (Soprano, Baritone, Tenor) and their advantages and disadvantages.
