Ukulele Pickup

I know nothing of this amplification system but you certainly can't argue with the price. Under $10 dollars??? Why not take a flyer and try it? What do you have to lose? Let us know how it sounded...

I've bought and installed four or five of those on my tenor ukes, they work great. The one thing to be careful of is making space for the piezo pickup under the saddle in the bridge that is perfectly flat so the four strings volume is balanced. I've used a luthier to install the pickup because I don't have the tools to cut the bridge, and I use a Dremel to cut the holes in the body.

Will this pickup work for a U-BASS, or is there something different/special about a piezo pickup made for a bass like there's a difference in a bass amplifier?

My first build ever is in process, and is a gift for my son, a U-Bass-Style instrument which will need to be 'electrified' soon after he starts playing it.

I've always played acoustic, but never plugged one into an amp, so I know very little about acoustic pickups...

Yes, I installed that one in one of my bass ukes, and also a Joyo made for a guitar that works great in another bass uke.

I have used these kind of things in bass ukes I have made and the only issue I found was that due to the curvature being different on the smaller bass body, I ended up fitting the amp piece upside down. Works fine though and we gig with one I made regularly.
Max

Control range: Bass --±12dB at 100Hz
Middle--±12dB at 300Hz
Treble --±12dB at 10KHz

The bass one isn't going to do much on an ukulele.

I am ordering a better and more expensive system from Arctic - their undersadle piezo are industry standard and the graphic equaliser plus pre-amp is all one unit. Total cost is going to be about $30...
