I reported on my first 2 ukuleles in the thread http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?123912-Concert-Ukulele-1-amp-2&highlight= . I have now completed #3 & #4.

Number 3 has a walnut body with considerable figure on the back. The front is cedar. The neck is carved from the same piece of walnut as the sides and back, and it has a cocobolo fingerboard. It became a Christmas gift for my son living in Sydney, Australia.

Number 4 was built as I was teaching a new friend to build a ukulele of his own. He provided the beautiful maple, spruce, and ebony for this build. This uke has good intonation, tone, and volume. I also added the side sound port. The finish started with French polish followed by many coats of Minwax Tung oil. I strung it with a low G string and am enjoying the new timbre of my instrument.

My friend also made his with maple, but used bloodwood for the bindings and some local Manitoba maple burl on the headstock.

They look to be deeper bodied than commercially built concerts, so likely have a nice deep tone with a low G. :)

I like the look! They seem very well built, from what I can see.
