Hi, I am going to replace and install Gotoh UPTs on my soprano. There are many cheaper to mid-priced reamers on EBAY, Amazon and instrument supply websites. Some have wood handles, others are all metal. Does anyone recommend a particular brand that is sharp enough to do the job? I am looking to spend under the $30 range. Thanks for any help!

Reamers in your price range I would call poor to adequate rather than good quality. I have three reamers: one is a standard DIY reamer and two are violin peg box reamers. The standard reamer is pretty good and quite cheap but has a more sudden taper than the violin reamers. The cheaper of the violin reamers was around your price range and it's not very good. It's not all that sharp and jams in the hole occasionally. The other one was about twice your price and is much better. It's the only one that really gets any use.

I'd say up your budget a little and buy from a specialist store rather than from some random eBay place. Maybe look at Stewmac.
