5 String Firefly Banjo

The Firefly 5-string is a lightweight 19" scale banjo. The 5-string features the same solid maple components & adjustable drum head tension as our Tenor Firefly Banjo Ukulele. Taking a cue from traditional banjo construction, this model incorporates an adjustable coordinator rod to affect neck angle.

•Solid hard maple neck & fingerboard; Laminated maple pot
•19" Scale; Overall length 28"; Rim diameter 9.75"; Weight 2 lbs

Mine is currently in production, I should have it next week.

Also curious about these. I have zero banjo experience but the new Beansprout model sounds nice. But it is tenor scale so harder to get G tuning on, whereas this is baritone scale so should have more options for tuning with different strings. I don't think I've seen a playing demo on the Firefly yet. You?

I am excited for this one. I may have to break my 'one uke' rule - ha ha.

I will wait for reviews and try to hold back my salivating in the meantime. :)

I have some experience with banjos, mainly clawhammer and ur-clawhammer (like Joel Sweeney type stuff). Initially I was exposed to the banjo via Aaron Keim's clawhammer uke stuff. I like the additional flexibility of the additional string but do not do well with the longer scale length, hence my excitement regarding this instrument.
