Peter Moon R.I.P.

For those that don't know... Peter Moon was one of the driving forces behind the Hawaiian renaissance in the 70s. He was a stunning instrumentalist and arranger who shredded balls on both 'ukulele and guitar.

I have no qualms nominating his playing on Kawika for best 'ukulele solo ever recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0X40GZA_r4

If you don't have the Tropical Storm and Cane Fire albums on your shelf, you are severely missing out on the best that contemporary Hawaiian music has to offer.

Unfortunately, they were playing at a time when there wasn't much video being recorded so there's very little footage of Mr. Moon doing his thing. But the records are truly a gift. RIP, sir.

Always sad to lose one of the greats. I will check out his albums for sure.
