Tips for fine tuning neck shaping

Thanks Beau. I find this part of the whole process the most scary and artistic. It really is sculpture. I'm always on edge because I can't afford to f*** up the thing up which is always a distinct possibility. I noticed that you glued on your headstock veneer and inlay and volute veneer. I'm never so committed. If I want to bail I like the idea that I can bail without losing too much valuable. I add that later. It hasn't happened yet, yet I know how these things go and a TFD (total f*** distaster) is always not far off.

haha- i shape the neck after everything is in place- face and back veneers and heel cap. I shape the heel and neck to headstock transition after i roughe shape the neck as i usually knock my spoke shave against these two ares- if they were final shaped, they would get bruised/dinged etc which wouldn't be fun.
