Tuning to Low G

Hi. I have a question about tuning to Low G.

Do you have to change the string to a thicker one? Like the C string?

Or you can just lower the tune down?
Any tips or ideas how to tune it?

Yes, you need a thicker string. Any string can be tuned a little bit up or down, but not that far.
