Chiily’s original post didn’t mention what format the resources were in...other people suggested PDF. Things can be in all kinds of formats, including iBook, Amazon Kindle, MusicXML (still not great for ukulele/guitar as a format), Doc/DocX documents, websites, and PDF. There are probably others. I don’t assume that PDF is what someone wants to display anymore...I have learned the hard way.
I think forScore is the best solution for PDF...I would also suggest unrealBook as a alternative with similar features (unrealBook was created and is maintained by a sole developer who is Hawaiian and plays with Chris Kamaka). For the “next generation” see Newzik (MusicXML and PDF). If you are running Kindle, there is something to be said for using Calibre (a format changer) on a computer and exporting Kindle to PDF for use with a Music Reader.
Music Readers DO make a difference beyond just using iBooks or Kindle. I present sessions on “How to use forScore” and cannot cover the features in an hour.
For a set-up, I like using the Manos Mount and GoStand from AirTurn, and I personally prefer the Pageflip Dragonfly Page turner, although I would also recommend the AirTurn and IRig Pedals as well.
