I am interested in 6-string ukuleles and keep my eyes open for a nice used one from one of the Big K brands. I came across one on Reverb that is advertised as "made in Hawaii between 2001 and present excellent condition", but the pictures suggest that this either much older or has substantial owner modifications. Some of the things that look different from current HF-36s:

  • white label
  • possibly friction tuners
  • possibly ebony nut and saddle
  • transparent pickguard

Other than the pickguard, are these actual vintage characteristics or aftermarket mods, and how old could this actually be?

What do you want to know, it's an early white label Kamaka 70s. In that condition 550 to 600 bucks I'd pay
