Keep in mind that a hard case will be significantly heavier than the one you currently have. A somewhat lighter, but still very protective, option would be a hard foam case. They are easily available; you should have no trouble finding one within your budget.

All I care about is the room inside. I might be able to use 24.5", but not 24". Giving just external dimensions doesn't help very much.
