Hello all,
I am on the fence about keeping my Brüko jumbo concert ukulele. I’ve had it for about 3 years and am the original owner. I was new to the ukulele then and had not settled yet on the soprano as my preferred instrument. So as a result, this instrument does not get very much play time and am wondering if there is any interest out there.

It is a concert scale uke with a 3 piece mahogany and maple neck and an archbacked Sitka spruce and mahogany body, with maple binding. There are a couple of minor flaws in the build, but it is a solidly built instrument with a beautiful tone. The tuners are high quality Schaller sealed tuners and I have always had low g worth browns on it.

The instrument has always been kept in a hard case and humidified when needed. No play wear or any dings, scratches, etc. It is in new condition. Brüko did the setup as this was a semi custom order, and the action and intonation are great.

Brüko may make a lot of these but they rarely appear on their website. Currently they have a walnut model available that is priced at 405 Euros.

I would sell this uke for around $300 which would include a padded gig bag and shipping to anywhere in the CONUS

The build flaws:
The two piece back seam is slightly off center.
There is a tiny spot on the top where the finish was probably touched before it was dry.
The binding edge has a hairline gap seam in a couple of places, aesthetic not structural.
The bottom piece near the neck where it joins the side panel extends a tiny, tiny bit, as though edge needed a little more sanding. Again, aesthetic and not a structural issue.

Hi, Nice looking ukulele. Does jumbo mean the body size is bigger or the scale is longer than the standard 15"?

Thanks!

In this case the body size is larger.
Concert scale neck, 12 frets to the body. Typical for Brüko.
So it plays like a concert but sounds like a tenor.

Nice looking Uke. I’ve often wondered why Bruko don’t just extend the neck on this jumbo concert and call it a tenor. I like the bigger body as compared to their tenor. Anybody ever had a bruko tenor and jumbo concert side by side?
Good luck with sale

Of course, now that I have hauled it out and have been playing it a bit more, I am even more on the fence about selling.
I guess that was to be expected, because now I want another jumbo concert! Or maybe a tenor!
;-)

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I have decided to keep the ukulele!
