As somebody who only visits Ukulele Underground every couple of weeks I've only just found out about the recent attack on here.Posting on the UU Facebook page I've discovered that a lot of other people hadn't heard about it either and are now panicking to change their passwords nearly 2 weeks after the attack, should we be worried?
UU seems to get attacked by hackers more than any other forum in existence.

From what I have gathered, nothing of any real value was accessed, so just change your password to put your mind at rest.

(There are threads on here, if you do a search.)

I found the UU is not been attacked very often. I'm a member of another forum that gets attacked about once a month.

8 tenor cutaway ukes, 3 acoustic bass ukes, 8 solid body bass ukes, 7 mini electric bass guitars

I heard via the UU Facebook page that some people got email notifications of the attack,I'm guessing there was also problems with that as many people didn't receive one.

Right. There isn't any personal financial information on this site.

Hackers don't need to get direct access to financial info to make it worth the effort. Access to email and passwords can be all they need since many people use the same password accross multiple sites.

I apologize for the apparent lack of communication. I've been trying to get the word out to everyone since last Friday as soon as I had everything stabilized but there are scaling issues when you have a forum with as many members as UU has. Sending out emails to over 100,000 email addresses simply doesn't work for many reasons. I know this because that was the first thing I attempted and it crashed our server multiple times.

I consulted with our VPS provider to figure out a way around this and their suggested solution also crashed our server. I consulted with our mail delivery provider and they educated me that sending out that many emails at once will result in our domain being flagged as a spammer bot and prevent our real transactional emails from reaching inboxes.

So we're at an impasse. I've still been trying to figure out how to get the word out, but for now, social media might be the best option we have available.

I recommend everyone to view this page to get answers to many of the questions you may have including what information may have potentially been affected:

Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding.
