At the NAMM show in January, Ohana has presented some promising new models. While some of them have since hit the market (various Sopranino and Sopranissimo models), I have not heard anything about others that were of interest to me and others here (see my "News from NAMM" thread).

So, has anyone ever heard again from Ohana's Guitar models? Their Tenor Guitar? Or their eagerly awaited crossing of a Baritone body with a Tenor neck (A.K.A. "Stubby Baritone", "Big Bodied Tenor", "Short Scale Baritone")?

Here are some of the pictures of these models that were posted during NAMM:

That short-scale baritone has my attention . . . I hope there will be some good sound samples (i.e., not from the NAMM floor, and not "sweetened" by the seller) before long. I just got on the baritone bus with a new purchase, and I'm wondering where it might take me.

I believe that Uke Republic is expecting some of the bari-tenors in September, but I don't know if they have arrived yet.

Thanks Mikhou! Great info, and a great name you came up with: Baritenor. Ohana should reward you with a free instrument for providing them with a label for their instrument.

I still wonder about their tenor guitar, though: Scale length, nut width, steel or nylon strings…?

I'll take it. If they read this thread and ask for an address, I'll be ready! ;)

I've heard "baritenor" used to describe a singer whose range includes both baritone and tenor. So I think the rewards might have to be shared . . . sorry.

It was worth a shot for a new uke. ;)
