Is it possible to use a Fremont Flourocarbon low g string with a set of Hilo nylon strings (the C, E and A strings)? I have the Hilo set on, but rather than switch all four strings, I was wondering if it was possible just to switch the G string over. Has anyone has ever mixed one flourocarbon with a set of nylon strings? Or is that not possible due to string tension issues/playability issues?

Yes, it's definitely not going to hurt anything. The only issue might be a change in tone from string to string. Go for it!

Who's gonna stop you mixing 'em however you like? :D

I might have to do something similar myself to solve my boomy G problem...

There are no rules to this stuff! Do what you want! :D

Well, there is one rule -- you have to tell us how it turns out! :p

Yeah I wouldn't think it would make a difference in pressure or whatever. Go for it but like Ukeatan said tell us what you think!!!
