Just discovered that Grizzly has a soprano uke kit on sale for $19.95. Sale ends 5/21/09. Looks like it could be a good beginners project. Has anyone ever made one of these? What do you think of the project and how does the finished product sound???

I posted about this sale in the Luthier section. I've put together a few of these kits. They are very quiet and the tone is just so so. The neck could be of use for a cigar box but the fretboards are a real think plywood and I've even snapped one in half just picking it up one day. You will want to make your own fretboard or buy one already slotted from Hana Lima or something.

Hey, I just saw that Monkeyswithladders just posted pics of his cigar box uke that he built from a Grizzly kit. He used the Grizzly fretboard and it worked out for him. You do need to be careful though and handle them with a little care.

I've been wanting to get a kit, maybe I will start with this one!
