I am wondering how a maple soundboard would sound like? I have never had a maple top Uke before. I have experiences with tops made of Koa, Spruce, Cedar, Mahogany, Red Wood, Mango, Myrtle, Walnut, Acacia and Sycamore. How would a maple top compare to any of these? I am not asking what is better, just wanting to know what to expect.
Thanks for any input.

Earlier this year, I built a pineapple ukulele with maple top and mahogany sides and back (https://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?132879-quot-Chauncey-Jerome-quot-pineapple-ukulele&highlight=Chauncey+jerome). It has a very bright sound.

The builder will have a strong influence on how it sounds. Steve Grimes has built several lovely sounding all-maple ukes. Here's one with video sound sample:

I agree with Eddie, the builder will have the strongest effect on sound . Had an all maple uke from Steve Grimes (different from the one in the link) that was truly amazing, warm bass, clear bright treble.

Loprinzi made some all maple ukes, too.

I have an all-maple LoPrinzi soprano. It is very bright, but I’ve never done anything about possibly warming it up with a string change.

I would echo the comment that the builder has a huge influence. For example, my Iriguchi is made of Birdseye maple. Most I’ve heard are punchy like mango, however mine is more in the velvety category. Here’s a basic sound sample in case you were interested: https://youtu.be/k4M1_3528FQ
