This was a commision for a fellow that asked for a Baritone that was classy but not over the top with bling.

We agreed to a simple color pallet using Master Grade Australian Blackwood with Gidgee trim and Black MOP details. The bindings are cut from the sides to give a cohesive look with just black / maple / black purflings to seperate them from the rest of the body. Gotoh open back machine heads, a MISI Acoustic Trio pickup and finished in high gloss polyurethane.

Wow! That is so elegant. I'm always amazed at how similar Blackwood is to koa, this particular uke is more beautiful than 99% of the koa ukulele I've seen. Is there the same insane market demand for Blackwood as there is for koa?

I do get a lot of requests for Blackwood with this sort of figure, but it's mostly from my Aussie market.

Not so much from my overseas clients I think because it's not widely know how fantastic it is.
