A simple tip i use
This is how I glue on my top purfling- Separate from the binding just to make it a bit easier and so you can spend more time on getting it perfect.
I use Titebond with a removable plastic dummy binding to help push the purfling into the purfling channel right up against the top edge- it also makes it easier to get the tape off.
Back purfling you can use ca glue as you won't stain the endgrain of hardwoods.
