I'm looking to add friction tuners to an older ukulele, and I was looking for some opinions and recommendations.

I was thinking of putting on Schaller tuners ($20) because of the thumb lock, but I have read some negative comments on them. Anybody use these?

Grover has a similar model with a thumb lock for $38 here:

Another option would be Gotoh Deluxe tuners for $30 but without thumblock

Another option is the Gotoh standard for $15, how do they compare to Gotoh Deluxe?

and finally Grover Sta-Tites for $26. I put these on an old harmony and I was satisfied with them.

The Grover Sta-Tites didn't for me. But there are other variables. I'm more of a geared tuner guy for a uke.

Believe it or not I have used 2 sets of these inexpensive eBay tuner pegs so far with great success, best bang for the buck, and very decent quality.
