Not sure where in the world I can ask this because Ronroco information is very limited.
I have an 8 string tenor ukulele with 17" scale length and love the Aquila strings for it. It is tuned GgCcEEAA (g and c in octave)
I want to get a Ronroco with a similar scale length and want to use the same tuning but also add a set of E strings like standard Bolivian Ronroco tuning. So the tuning would be GgCcEEAAEE. One Ronroco I am looking at has a 17 and 3/4" scale length.
Would I be able to use two of the 8 string Aquila set on a Ronroco like that? I only need two sets because I would need 2 more E strings. Assuming it is built for 10 string tension wouldn't it be very similar? Maybe like tuning the 8 string ukulele up one half step?
The total tension on a 17" scale length for the Aquila 8 string uke set is 68.6 lbs or 31.1 kg. But that's only 8 strings not 10....
Thanks so much for any help!!!
