Just got my Ukulele a couple of weeks ago. Been watching a number of videos of folks playing them (great talent out there).

There are lot of videos on YouTube that have the terminology "(ukulele cover)" in the title. Such as "My My Hey Hey - Neil Young (ukulele cover)" at link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOqaY0IgQ60.

What does "ukulele cover" mean?

Thank you.

Have a Great Day,

"Cover" refers to the fact that the song is not the performer's original work. It was written by someone else. Using the phrase "Ukulele Cover" is just an easy way to say "This is not my song, but I do it on the Uke"...

Contrast with "Ukulele Original".

Hope that helps!

I'm sure that it is someones version of a song already recorded or released by an artist.

it means you are playing a song that is not "your" original song. it is sung or played by someone else. So you are just doing a "cover" of the song.I hope I am right!

It means it's not your song and your covering the song with a ukulele..
