Other quality makers considered. Overall condition and intonation must be excellent. Solid wood only. Looking for something bright, clear and loud with great sustain. Who has my next ukulele??
 
You should also consider the Rebel NEO. cedar and exotic Thai wood. Got it at HMS, fills your description to a tee...

Would love to find a used one of those! Someone else recommended it but he didn't want to sell his. The new price is a bit past my comfort zone.

Thanks everyone, for your comments and private messages. I ended up with a wonderful "final four", any of which would have made me a happy gal. Bought a Rebel. :)
