Found a 1966 Flaminco brand ukulele made in Korea today at a thrift store. It looks like it has some history to it. Anyone know anything about this brand? I cannot find anything about it online. Thanks!

From the pics I'd say it's not a good history! Looks like someone just found some scraps of wood and decided to make a 'bridge' and pickguard out of them. Would've helped if they knew what a saddle is and that you don't tie the strings on the front of the bridge. Also helps if you glue the bridge on straight. I'd guess it was a cheap uke since I can't see how anyone would have butchered a nice one this way.

I'm wondering if the pick guard is actually a repair from someone trying to fix it?

Have you tried playing it?

Bout the price of a pack of matches. It looks like it was beaten pretty harshly. That slab of wood on top kind of tells a person the soundboard will not vibrate at all.
