A good friend of mine went uke shopping at a local store. They saw a Martin T1K they liked but wanted it in Low G. The salesman said it can't be made into a low G without changing out the saddle at a cost of around 125.00.

I've never heard of a tenor that can't be changed to a low G. Perhaps the nut slot would need filing and if a tie bridge, perhaps the hole would need enlarging.. at the most.

Any one have this uke in Low G and if so, what did you have to do to make it so.

I told her to run from that store. I mentioned Kamoa in that price T1K price range. No Ponos, necks too thick.

Patrick, I own this uke and after a couple of weeks put a low g string on it but preferred high g. It works fine though, I used an Aquila Red low g and didn't require any adjustment for it.

Arcy, I think the salesman talked about compensation using the low G.

Thanks Dan ,I'll let her know. I think she's looking at a higher model now.
