Basically, collaborator A films his/her part and sends it to collaborator B. Collaborator B slaps a pair of headphones on (to eliminate audio bleed) and films him/herself playing along. Either A or B edits them together. I use a split screen plug-in for iMovie, so I can't help with PC software.
I would ask Domonic... he has done it and since he is an mspaint guy I would guess he does it on a PC... I do know that premier elements will let you do split screen work so thats an option. 150 for premier and photoshop elements...
It can be done but a better program would be multiquence. there's a free fully-functional eval download and the full version is $30. we've used it for most of the UCB vids.
