I like to keep my ukes in hard cases, and I found a great one for banjo ukuleles. it's a standard, black case, but large enough for a banjolele. I found mandolin cases at Sweetwater and Musician's Friend. I bought five of them over a period of a few months, and they cost $40 or $50, but now they're $100 or more. The prices will probably come down eventually - maybe.

Moral of the story: if you see something for sale at a reasonable price, buy it!

You can't mention the A company without being blocked as a spammer but I at least found a fairly heavily padded gig bag for $29.99 by Music First.
It handles a concert banjo uke with 10" pot

Yikes. I purchased the first one listed for my Tenor Firefly banjo uke just a few months ago for $40 (with free shipping).

By the time I had committed to purchasing one from Musicians Friend the pricing had already started to rise.
I ended up purchasing a Glarrymusic Style A Mandolin hard case for my Gold Tone Little Gem.
Glarry’s case is currently $39.99 on their website with free shipping.

I just checked their site but thought I'd ask you-- if you do a measurement do you think it would fit a 10" pot? I see their listing as 10.63 but they aren't always accurate. Thanks

I will measure the resonator on my Little Gem tomorrow along with getting you an exact measurement of the case.

I bet it's the same case. I have three of them, and they are identical, even though I bought from two different places. They fit the Duke 10, Southern Cross, and Little Gem, and it seems to be the same case as the Gold Tone case that cost me $150, with Gold Tone written on the outside.

Thanks. If it will fit a Duke 10 it will fit the one I made.

And you have a Southern Cross? I'm jealous.

Yes, I was lucky to get that Southern cross from Dennis. Amazing workmanship.

I measured that mandolin case. It has thick padding inside. From side to side, it's 10.25". Pushing into the padding, I measured a little over 10.5"

Found two by Gearlux and Glarry under $60 but that's about it. Cost more than the uke I just built though it does play really well

That can be a sticking point: cost of uke vs cost of case. On the other hand, the goal is to protect the instrument, and replacing yours would involve a lot of time and effort,

Yeah, I'm thinking that. This thing does play amazing well. And yes, adjusting that neck took me forever.

Thanks. Went ahead and ordered. Only $10 more than the soft bag so that's going back. Too bad it won't fit the cookie tin uke. It's 3.5"

Hey thanks! Got mine today and it fits with room to spare.
It's a really tight fit, but I can actually get that 3.5" cookie tin uke in. It fits the Duke 10 I'm selling too
I'm airing it out for a few days because it really smells. It's sturdier and heavier than I thought it would be.
Thanks again!!
