Making a simple rosette.
I used to make the rosette, with the BWB's attached, then inlay it all in one hit but if there are any irregularities in the circle you need to "creatively scrape" unless your egg shaped rosette fits in the round routed channel.
I've been doing it this way for about 1 year now (after 15 years doing it the former way) and I like this way better. So i thought i'd share.
1- Routing
2- Fitting the bwb’s (with some scraping)
3- Gluing.
4- Clean up before clamping down.
Note (pics in the next post) that I stagger the bwb ends to either side of the center line. While this isn't as important here as it is all under the fingerboard, I make sure I do this with the top and back body purflings. It's not a great idea to have the purfling and binding joining right on the top/back center lines.
