Library-Based Groups?

Our group, the Catskill Ukulele Group, meets in three different local libraries, and those libraries have both ukuleles and Jim Beloff's books that can be checked out.

Are any of you in similar library-based groups?

That's a really nice idea. Good for the libraries, good for the ukulele club. I'm not aware of any library uke venues in my area. We have a ukulele club that meets at a local music store, and another club that meets at our local senior center.

Yeah, our local library has a group, and I think they lend ukes too. I don’t belong to the group though.

Looks good Jerry. You have a lot of energy. I should get off my butt and try to get something organized like that.

As a librarian, I approve of this thread. We lend out instruments of all types and varieties, but we have had less success with "meet-ups" at the library. Most people just want to take them home and give them a whirl.

For me, just the opposite is true. I prefer playing in a group.

We have a regular group at the Ventura, CA downtown library. We get 40-60 players twice a month.
The library has loaner Ukes and books.
