Austin Hing recommended Yue Da Ukulele & Guitar Flagship store in Taipei. I went and met Tang and the gang, what a joy. For affordable ukuleles and friendly no-pressure atmosphere, check them out.

No. 43巷7號, Jinhua Street, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100

Chinese address, just in case you need locals’ help. They are generally better in Chinese.
樂大烏克麗麗UKULELE旗艦店
台北市中正區金華街43巷7號1樓

Just a business link address, they do not have a website.

I’m glad you had a great time there! Just checking, do they happen to have some kiwaya hanging there? I’m kind of thinking of a taipei vocation in June. Haha

Wow! Congrats. Looking forward to your future post. Are the prices in Taiwan the same as if you bought it from a retailer here (other than the whole supply/demand issue)?

Also went to the aNueNue shop. I’ll post pictures on Tuesday. Bought a Moon Bird Tenor.:D

Wow! Congrats on the new moon bird! You’re a man on a mission, or did UAS attack just happened while you were in the anuenue shop? How would you plan to take it back home?

And thank you for the info on kiwaya.

Wow! That Kitty uke looks so realistic! The action must really purr when you stroke it.

My Moonbird from the aNueNue shop in Taipei. And Steven who set it up and installed the picked up.

Went to the first or second day of 11th Annual Taiwan Ukulele Festival.
Discovering the passion of some great ukulele players from Japan and the Philipinas. Learning new ukulele techniques. Making new friends and of course eating good food.

Lovely!

I know that this is an older thread, but does anyone know if there’s a ukulele seller in Taichung, Taiwan? My son lives there and wants to start playing ukulele.

Hi there, I would suggest the following:
烏克時代
Uke Style Flagship Store
40360 台中市西區公益路153號2樓
2F., No.153, Gongyi Rd., West Dist., Taichung City 40360, Taiwan
https://www.ukestyle.com

The link below has the ukuleles (by brand) that they are carrying

Personally I have not been to this place, but it has some pretty rave reviews.

Also, if you are interested in an ACE or Oulcraft ukulele contact G.J. Lee. https://www.youtube.com/user/a9965123
I met him in Taipei and he speaks English. Nice guy with lots of ukulele information. He has played with many ukulele pros. You can friend him on FB and message him your questions.

Hi Austin and Martin, Thank you both for your help and advice, I will pass the details on to my son and he’ll hopefully become a fellow ukulele player soon.
Kind regards,
Paul
