Interesting, but you put this in the wrong forum, it needs to be in the Marketplace forum. Also, tell the history of the instrument, why it was designed that way, where you got it, why you're selling it.

Ah, then you should make it clear that your presenting an interesting new instrument. It really looks like you're intending to sell it.

So the top 4 are same as guitar (and baritone uke) but the bottom two are an octave below guitar?
And the scale is 28.5" so kinda like baritone guitar?
That's an odd one all right!

Hi, Jim.! This instrument is called Bessangi (bass & gui). Yairi is developing this instrument. It used be 5 strings, two bass and three ukulele (guitar) strings. This model has only one pick up, another model has two pick-ups, one for bass one for ukulele. We can put effecters on ukulele sounds only.

E-A-D-G-B-E
6E 3rd of bass(0.080)octav below
5A 2nd of bass(0.065)octav below
4D(0.024)
3G(0.016)
2B(0.012)
1E(0.009)

Seems to be a long scale tenor guitar with a couple of bass strings. I haven’t done any tension calcs, but a 28.5” scale with steel strings has got to be a real bear to play even with the .009’s. And a 28.5” bass scale has to be a little loose if it is tuned to a normal bass guitar, which is an octave below to begin with (E1 vs. E2).

What an odd duck. Skinny super high tension and fat super low tension. Seems like the worst of both worlds.

There's no ukulele in that odd duck...

Scale is longer than guitar, hence it carries lighter strings in first 4 strings. Scale is shorter than bass, but it carries lighter strings (3rd and 2nd strings in the photo below).

so you're using the A string of the bass at a much shorter scale. So this must end up being an E an octave higher than the E on the bass - which makes it the same pitch as guitar. If so, I really don't see the point of this instrument, so I must be confused about something.

Bessangi is bit odd.
1 (see the figure below) is bessangi, 2 is guitar, 3 is bass, 4 is baritone ukulele. Bessangi looks bass plus baritone ukulele.

The top 4 strings (DGBE) makes it playable like a Baritone ukulele.

That being said, there's a bit of ukulele in guitars and bass too if you think about it (and vice versa).
There's nothing super duper exclusive about an ukulele. It's just a small, short scaled guitar with 4 strings tuned differently.
Likewise, guitar is just an ukulele with 6 strings and a longer scale.
