I have been using Thomastik CF 27 for C string (Low G tuning) and quite happy with it. CF 27 is thinner and sometimes sits lower in the nut slot, in turn needs some nut adjustment. I was thinking if anyone has tried CF 30 for C string? That should eliminate the thinner string conundrum.

I know some players like CF 30 for low G. How about using CF 35 for the low G?

Last question. Will using two steel strings in a set put too much pressure on the bridge?

Any input will help. Thank you.

T-I CF 35- low D; CF 30=low G, CF27= wound C. CF 35 is used for the Low D on Baritones.

Yes, I use the CF 35 as the 4th string on my Bari and the CF30 as the third string. I use the CF30 as the 4th string on my tenors and the CF27 as the 3rd string. I love these strings.
