Solo ukulele. 1932 hit for Benny Moten and his Kansas City Orchestra. The tune was mostly associated with the Count Basie band via their 1940 recording.

I recorded with a matched pair of Royer R-10 ribbon microphones positioned in a Blumlein array - a time tested way to record stereo.

I used my Low-G Hive Hornet tenor uke- key of Bb modulating to the key of D on the bridge.

You can set YouTube settings to 2160p for the full 4K Gerald experience!

Basie played in Moten's band. When Moten died, Basie started his own band using many players from the Moten band.

Captivating! Thanks, Gerald.

When I was being made I stood in the 'talent allocation queue' only to be told they'd run out by the time I got to its head.
Now I know when MY allocation went!
Brilliant Gerald. Well done.

Lovely stuff Gerald......... I really like the Low G on the Tenor.
Just excellent really,
Mike
