Ono Wahoo Series Tenor: Torrefied Spruce/Quilted Sapele

Many of you know I am a fan of David’s work. He makes a helluva uke, especially for his price point. This is the second uke he completed in his new higher end Wahoo series, which features a slotted headstock. I find this to be an incredibly gorgeous uke that sounds fantastic as well. And its playability is outstanding. I love the satin epoxy neck.

This is not my uke, but I am selling it for Coolcow. I just acquired another of David’s Wahoo series (Adirondack/BRW) or I would have snagged this in a minute without question. It’s an incredible uke and is in mint condition.

Full specs:

  • Torrefied spruce top
  • Quilted Sapele body, which has been pore-filled
  • Curly maple bindings
  • Red Mailee burl rosette
  • Spanish cedar neck finished in satin epoxy
  • Side sound port
  • Macassar ebony fret board (radiused) and bridge
  • Slotted headstock with Gotoh Stealth tuners
  • No MOP or other CITES-restricted materials (the dots are pearloid plastic)

Here is a very quick sound sample from awhile back. If I get time, I'll do another but I think this conveys its wonderful tone, despite my playing:

New this uke would cost about $2,750 (uke + case + shipping). Will sell for $2,000 shipped CONUS. International pays difference in shipping.

That ukulele is gorgeous and sounds great. Someone will have a wonderful instrument

PM sent to you just now.

Not surprisingly, this beauty garnered plenty of interest and was snapped up quickly! Soon on its way to its next loving owner!! Thanks, UU!
