Stringing slotted headstocks

Apologies if this has already been posted and discussed previously.

Having just bought a slotted headstock Pono I did find it a bit more difficult to restring.

After searching YouTube this is now my preferred method.

But I would be very interested in how others string their slotted headstock.

+1 for the video from me too - very useful indeed.

Like you I recently bought a Pono with a slotted headstock ( mine came from “The Uke Room”) and when it came to changing the strings, a task that normally takes me 10 minutes or so , I was still faffing around 30 minutes later !

Next time I shall be referring to the video , so thanks again.

The biggest takeaway is how the strings wind on the pegs. 1 & 4 outward, 2 & 3 inward. But not far enough to rub against the wood.

I also feed the string through the tuner hole twice. But I take time to let the string stretch before getting to tension.
