Our Shriner's hospital/hospice ukulele group is now one year old. It was totally inspired by the UKC.

Music can sure be powerful. What a wonderful idea. Cheers for posting Nickie.

An absolutely great service. Our group has been supporting The UKC for a couple of years. We regularly play at UCLA/Mattel Children's Hospital and present the kids the ukes we donated to. They're ecstatic receiving it, and especially the parents seeing their child so happy in a difficult time.

This is Michael Kohan in Los Angeles, Beverly West near the Beverly Center
9 tenor cutaway ukes, 5 acoustic bass ukes, 11 solid body bass ukes, 9 mini electric bass guitars (Total: 34)

Thanks van and Dave.
Kudos to you, Mike.
We've not been able to combine our efforts with UKC's here, although Corey did agree to supply Shriner's hospital with ukes, through the part time MT.
Now the inpatient unit is closing. Very sad.
As we expand, we'll no doubt try to volunteer in another children's hospital or unit, where UKC can be a presence.
We're discussing the addition of our Veteran's hospital here, but we keep playing phone tag.
Can you imagine how the ukulele could help a vet with PTSD or other injuries?
