Just thought I'd share for those that are into Custom Tenors.

This is actually the "sister" to a Tiple that I made for Kenny B. Same woods, with the same style headstock (that I call the Kenny B style - otherwise known as a laminated headstock, but not in the traditional sense). This one has more Koa accents, with Black MOP Rosette and Purfling. His daughter's name is on the Cocobolo FB (White MOP), and it has an LRBaggs Element UST (of course), with D'Addario Titanium Trebles with the Gold Wound J4804 low g (of course).

Man, you guys are too fast! I was going to say the inlay is simple, but that's what he wanted. Deach - the Tiple just moved back to `Oahu, it was in Kapa`a for the past 2 years. Here's a couple more:

I never thought I was a fan of quilted maple. Until now. I had to call somebody over to help me pick my jaw up off the floor! Spectacular!

Chuck my friend, there are just some trade secrets you aren't supposed to let out, especially since my son got an Iwata this past Christmas. . .

As for sound clips, I don't play, so you won't get any from me. For those that know what my Quilted Maple Spruce should sound like with composite strings, its what you would expect. Of course, 1 year from now (or sooner, depending on the owner), this thing is going to sweeten up like the others, I'm sure.

And, thanks for the comments, very much appreciated.

Wow Bruddah Aaron, that is a beauty for sure. I think this is the first time I noticed the binding scheme being carried through along the side of the heel. Nice touch.

Regarding a sound clip. Can't you get one of the boys to do a quick demo before it goes off to its owner? I don't think we've seen a video from them in a while.

Kekani, love that tricky binding work around the body and the shape of the bridge. Probably steal it for my next uke build! Big kudo's on the overall look. Just enough clean bling. Very, very nice...e.lo...

I think I'll do that sometime this weekend. I'm supposed to deliver it (yesterday), but I want to do more fretwork on it. My oldest started playing it, and after he was done he says, "I just realized, there are no fretboard markers." So I asked him how he played it (up to the third position), and he pointed to the markers on the side. There's a story to this story involving Bryan Tolentino (and side markers), but that's another story. Suffice to say I'm glad he uses side markers.

You probably can. Thanks.

I got to play this uke last night and I couldn't put it down. If it didn't have "Kamalani" on the fret board, I would have been tempted to sneak it out with me.

Hey Aaron, get started on mine yet?

Been thinking about it all day. I can't get myself to jig up the slot, and I don't even want to think about the bread, coffee and hula, just yet.

Uuuummmm, is there something I should know? Nah, probably not. Dino doesn't look like an artwork type. Then again. . .

When I used to play out (blues clubs) my instruments never had face markers - it prevents drunks from playing your precious instruments! I recommend it to every one who has a build from me.

My UAS has kicked into overdrive.... We need to chat. :)

I never understood the point of markers on the face of the neck, as that's not where I can see. Who came up with that bit of genius anyway?

This is a beautiful instrument. If it plays 3/4 as good as it looks, I would suggest you give up your day job and go into the business of being a Ukulele custom luthier. You are very talented!

Have a Great Day,

Wow.... The curls in that wood are three dimensional! I also like how the headstock looks to be plywood. Never seen that before!

Beyond well done!
