Hi there !

I own a Uke which I equipped with GOTOH UPTL tuners. Unfortunately I feel that the buttons (tortoise) do not really go well with the spruce/rosewood of my Uke.

So I thought about changing the buttons but unfortunately I can not find any shop that offers them.

Does anyone know a shop that offers just the buttons or does anyone know a luthier that offers custom buttons for those tuners ? For example ebony ones ?

Thanks,
Daniel

I was thinking the same as Jim Hanks said above. They may also point you to some generic fits...…….no harm asking.

Hi, Ukador!

Any local or internet dealer, which supply Gotoh pegs, can get any parts of Gotoh pegs.

I've got two screws ($0.2) from an internet dealer (http://www.treasure-power.net/). I think best way to do is to ask local music shops or guitar repair shops. And peg buttons are often compatible. Try acoustic or electric guitar buttons and see what happens. That is fun. I put Les Paul pegs on my acoustic guitar.

I would remove the current buttons and see if buttons on any of your other tuners will fit on the Gotohs. If a certain brand and model fits, you might be able to buy a set of those tuners for less than the cost of buttons from JaParts.

EDIT: These are buttons for Gotoh tuners, but not UPTs, so they are probably different.

You could buy a new set, swap the buttons with the old set, and then sell the new set with the old buttons here at a discount. Someone reading this right now might be eager to do that.

As someone suggested, swapping buttons with someone might work. Can you post a picture of these? I have some Gotohs, and I'll post a picture. We could do a swap. I had a uke in mind for these black ones, but let me see what the tortoise buttons look like.
