Just used the string though with side tuner rig, to install a replacement lower back brace on a 23-27 2K Martin Soprano. Next time I'll use a set of colored strings to make the string threading operation less confusing.
Previously, when a through the sound hole repair was done, I rigged up a combination of corked padded levers to set the brace, fumbling around to get the glued brace in the right position and making an unsightly repair.
The string method lets me position the bridge loosen the strings, tilt the brace, squirt glue under it tighten and clean up, makes it a cinch.
Well I couldn't pass up that pun.
