I haven't seen this mentioned here yet unless I missed it...

I was looking at Flight's FB page and noticed they replied to someone talking about the travel ukes with this:

"Flight Ukulele: ahhh, thank you so much :) we're rolling out a concert-neck version in 2 months! :)"

I'm guessing some of you will be interested in that.
I wonder if it'll be the same body but different neck, or if the body will be larger too...since the wording is "concert-neck" rather than size.

I’ve posted about it and was one of the people asking for a concert sized TUS35. They are keeping the soprano body and adding a concert neck.
Maybe they'll give you your own artist/teacher model. :D
That sounds interesting... I'd wonder about the balance...and the sound. It seems if they move the bridge back to compensate for the scale it'd deaden the sound a bit, so maybe a 14 fret neck join will be on that model...but then that's more weight on the neck. I know a lot of other companies have done similar things.

If Magic Fluke can add a tenor or concert neck to the soprano Flea body, then Flight shouldn't have a major issue.

True. I think the Flea body is bigger than the Flight...but I haven't held one of those in years...so my memory may be rusty.

It'll be interesting to see.

If they build a concert scale TUS-35, I'm in for sure! It would be the ultimate budget/beater/travel concert uke, the sop version sounds great, as heard in this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S44KUXie0l8
That video is one that helped my decision to get a TUS-35.
My TUS-35 sounds good to me too. :)

I think they might be in competition with this:

(also comes in different colors)

That should be even more durable. It has my attention. It'll be interesting to see the price differences once both are out.

There are so many good, budget choices now.

I am amazed that these sound really good and play really well, especially for that price.

Without being too crazy about it, a friend has a Magic Fluke Concert Model and we played the TUS 35 and the Magic Fluke back to back...and other than fret spacing, there wasn't much different in tone between the instruments. Really, and the Fluke has that sort-of pineapple shape and the TUS-35 has the double bout body. The only think the TUS 35 was lacking, for me, was a concert neck.

I do have that Enya on order, and tomorrow I'm going to pick up the Panda Watercolor which was A LOT like the TUS 35 (too close, in my opinion) from my local dealer that sells Amahi, Penguin, Snail, and Panda Ukuleles. https://amahiukuleles.com/product/watercolor-series/

These have a MSRP of $49 and a MAP of $39, but apparently Amahi doesn't work with companies that sell online...they only sell to brick and mortar dealers?

If only Outdoor Ukulele would spend $100,000 to make a concert mold so I can buy a $140 Outdoor Concert.... :)

I'm very curious about that Enya... We'll see if they start shipping when they claim. I know there are no guarantees there. I really like the design of that one.

I hadn't ever heard of the Panda. That certainly is a lot like the Flight.
I looked at a close up picture and it looks like the fretboard is a bit different in that it doesn't have that fake wood grain look built in. I wonder if the back of the neck will be smooth as well instead of the grain texture.
I like the look of the Flight bridge a lot better, but it looks like that Panda has a removable saddle which is a big plus.

It'll be interesting to see a comparison, if you do one, Choirguy.
