I am contemplating getting fluorocarbon strings for my old Kamaka Lili'U six string uke. It seems that the preferred (and possibly only) choice here on the UU are Worth Brown (B6) strings. I asked Worth about the string diameters, and they responded promptly with the same measures that I also found at stringsbymail site:

1st : 0.0185(A)
2nd : 0.0291(Low-A)
3rd : 0.0260(E)
4th : 0.0319(Mid-C)
5th : 0.0205(C)
6th : 0.0224(G)

I find it confusing that the (higher) C string pair has a thicker gauge than the A-string pair. I would expect that if the uke was strung like this it would result in very unbalanced tension, with much higher tension of the C-strings than A-strings. So I am wondering if this is a mistake and those who use these strings figure it out and allocate the gauge according to open string frequency, or if this is done on purpose to lower tension of the A-strings for potential playing comfort?
