So, this is actually about my guitar, however, since guitar and ukulele are similar, I thought you guys could help me out.

When I play guitar, I use a lot of chords, one chord in particular, E flat. Its played high on the fret board.

Here is the problem. When I use the High E string, and I pass the 6th fret, the note jumps to as if you are holding on the 12th fret.

I traced the problem to the 12th fret. The string touches it when I hold down the string between the 11th and 6th fret.

It doesnt do this with any other string.

Any ideas how to fix it? I cant do E flat until it's fixed.

Is the 12th fret fully "seated"? Sometimes they pop up slightly on one end.

If you use a straight edge, such as a metal scale/ruler, you should be able to tell if the 12th fret is fully seated. If it's not seated properly, the straight edge of the ruler will rock back and forth between the 11th and 13th frets.

You're right, that was the problem. I just fixed it. Thank you!
