Sopranino video...

sopranino history

I love soprano ukes and have recently become interested in sopraninos...do you know anything about their history? I hope you'll share more video as your project progresses.

Thanks.

Don't despair - I can do the 4 strings - it's just that i am looking at a 'new' ukulele concept. I recently broke the 4th string on one of my ukes and messed asround with it for day before replacing the string. Don't dismiss it - it is a cool uke-like sound that forces some real left brain thinking.

What scale length are you using, Pete?

I'm making a box uke using a smaller than usual box - I thought around !2"?

Ukantor.

Pete, any update on the cherrynino? I'd love to see/hear how it turned out!

I'll do a video tomorrow - it's still naked! I am part way through building a 4 string a bit like a braghina....

All you need is a dowel pin to hold the neck onto the body?

Make sense, not really that much tension with 3 nylon strings.

Will a dowel on work for 4 string soprano and tenor as well?

That how Taylor Guitars attaches their necks. Always made me shudder. Like you say, it should work great on such a small instrument.

I'm I mistaken? It looks like on your Cherrynino you used two wooden dowels?
